Slava Polubnev and Kristin Reichardt began their professional dance partnership in January 2019, which soon led to the development of DanceFam Ballroom & Latin Studio.
Both professional ballroom and Latin dance competitors and instructors with a collective more than 20 years experience between them, the pair started their studio with the core values of artistry, education and community, born from a passion for using dance and artistic movement to help people build connections with others and develop their own artistry and self-confidence. They compete professionally together in American Rhythm, as well as with their students in various styles. They have made top 3 placements in professional Rising Star American Rhythm division finals, as well as finaled in professional Open American Rhythm divisions.
Slava specializes in developing unique choreography designed to highlight each individual student's story, goals, and skills. Kristin specializes in styling and characterization, as well as developing youth dancers.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Dance Vision International Dance Association certified instructor, and we use the DVIDA syllabus for our training.
My partner and I also still are actively competing professionals, so we take regular training with our coaching team, which includes 3-time undefeated U.S. American Rhythm Champions Nazar Norov and Irina Kudryashova.

We always offer a free 30-minute intro private lesson so we can consult with clients and see if we fit what you are looking for!
Regular private lessons are 45 minutes each and pricing is as follows (for the couple, not for individuals):
1 lesson = $85
5 lessons = $400
10 lessons = $750
Group classes are $15 per person per class, or 4 classes for $50.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you hire an instructor that can explain WHY they are asking you to move a certain way, put your foot in a specific place, etc. You don't just want to memorize steps, you want to understand why you are making a movement choice. This helps to make dancing more enjoyable and less robotic.
Also look for an instructor or teaching team that believes in ongoing education and growth. No one knows everything! It is important that an instructor always is working on their own growth, as well as the growth and knowledge of their staff when applicable.
