About
I think what I love those most about teaching is how surprised they are when they realize how easy and fun learning is. As a long time professional dance champion, Gold certified instructor, and partner in the Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Delaware in Ohio it has been the most rewarding experience of my life teaching people about finding joy through the dance. Whether it is learning for the first time for a wedding, looking to start a new hobby by yourself later in life or wanting to enjoy a social community with a partner or even a " Dancing with the stars" dream, connecting people together through dance ! Amazing to say the least.
If you like me, and you want to take a whirl at it. Call my company's office at 740-368-9040 or my cell listed and we can have a first dance lesson together for free to see how it goes. If you want a male instructor as well we can help as weel ! I promise it will be something you won't ever regret.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When a new client interested in dancing comes in, usually a simple chat to go over what they are looking for and why will help us all get started on the right foot. From there I can walk through what exactly I will do in the lesson and get started on the dance floor. My recommendation is comfortable shoes that are close toed and clothing that is loose and unrestricted. Some people like to wear a professional attire and some enjoy jeans. Either way I think it is about your own personal comfort level.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Some of my background is in education so I have a strong understanding of the learning process in addition to dance. Which makes learning probably go faster. Additionally I am a business, executive and or a life coach so my expertise in helping people achieve goals effectively goes hand in hand with dance objectives. Mostly I think my own experience in learning to dance myself gains me empathy in understanding everything from the costs to the why's and how of any of the dances.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lesson cost is typically free for the first two. From there packages can begin around $200 plus. All the packages include membership services such as daily group instruction and weekly dance parties. So that makes it nice.
How did you get started teaching?
All my life I have been a fan of the amazing and wonderful Fred Astaire along with his many dance partners. His style, grace and love of dancing had me hooked at a wee little age
Truly however, I decided to become a dancer after watching Saturday Night Fever when I was very young! From there I contacted Fred Astaire Dance studio to begin a formal training program and the rest is history.
What types of students have you worked with?
What type of students haven't I worked with I would say.
I have had many single men, couples young and old as well as ladies of all ages.
Some of my favorites have been the gentlemen and ladies who begin later in life terrified they can't be taught and then falling in love with it. Many have found improved health and wellness and are my personal heroes when it comes to modeling for me personally how to live your life to the fullest!
And then their have been the many many couples who continue to fall in love with each other using the dance as a way to stay connected.
And least I forget the youngest learners from the age of 8 to 22. So many wonderful experiences with schools, proms, and performances.
Of course I can not leave out my own favorite students which are those who love it as a hobby. Who choose to perform and compete in all styles. I love choreographing and working with other coaches, traveling all over the world to meet with others who love it in the same way.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advise to those looking to hire a teacher. Well of course try me or anyone from my school. We are certified, the most important and we make those who come feel safe and welcomed.
I guess that would be the best advise. Having a supportive experienced professional teacher with an environment of supportive students where you can not only learn but also be connected with others who are coming from where you are. Inexperienced or experienced it's the relationship you have with us that is the most valuable part of learning.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Questions to think about.
Why are you learning. What dances (if you know) or music you like.
Are you getting ready for a special occassion or just have always wanted to learn.
What you want from your teacher or school.
Your availability.
Probably the most would be what if any are your fears.
