Frost Drum Lessons
About
I've been playing drums for a living full time, either teaching, performing, or recording for 5 years now, and I've been studying the instrument for 15 years. Drums have been an integral part of my life. I'm happy to share my experience and knowledge of the instrument with any student at any skill level, age, and style to help better them in the direction they want to go in with the instrument, whether playing professionally or just as a hobbie. I guarantee lessons tailored to your needs. I've toured with acts locally; regionally, nationally and internationally. I studied music all through out high school and college focusing mainly on jazz, classical, funk, and fusion. Since playing professionally, I've branched out to all styles of music, and currently make most of my living playing R & B, country, folk, and pop.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Different for different age groups. I will generally probe to find out what got you interested, what music inspires you to play, and who your favorite artists are, then tailor the lesson plans toward making you the type of drummer you want to be. In the process we will cover all the basics and fundamentals you need to play how you want to play. With younger beginners we usually start with being able to identify each drum, and play back what you hear. We incorporate counts and basic techniques with call and response rhythms just to get you playing! Eventually (usually within the 2nd lesson as younger player) you'll play your first full groove!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied percussion/music/drums both private and institutional all through high school, trade school, and college. And I went to schools with excellent music programs! I've also been touring and performing music full time for the better part of 5 years now!
Diploma from Union High School
BACHELOR TRACK JAZZ PERFORMANCE from UCO
Broadcast sound engineering at Tulsa Tec.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure you hire someone who has your best interests in mind, not just the styles they personally came up playing.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What music inspires you? Who are your favorite bands? What experience made you want to check out drums? What music do you want to play?
