Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We start by addressing the goals of the student and the parent's expectations from the coaching.
We access their own skills from day one. We set goals to see progress and build a custom program for each student:
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
20 Plus Years of playing the game. Advanced training and certification. Collegiate sports experiences.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
No student is the same, we have basic skills process that we use to track progress. However, each student has personal desgin progression skills program development for their specific goals.
How did you get started teaching?
While currently still playing the game and spending many hours on the course and practice facility it's become a common nature to help someone advance their skills. So, it's been a work in progress to get to the point to start teaching on a regular basis.
What types of students have you worked with?
From Never Picked up a club to High School to Small Tours. Skills levels of many different levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Helping with the mental part of the game has been the latest accomplishment. This is one of the hardest spots with keeping mentally ready for. Helping someone understand that playing within their limits actually help them succeed faster and more effectively.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take a few lessons from three different coaches in the area. Get a understanding of how they coach and how they communicate with their students. What coach stands out with the ability to help you improve your skills and set goals that you're looking to achieve.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What am I going to gain from a coach? Am I coachable? Am I willing To put in the time and effort to be successful at my sport? Is this my desire or someone else's desires? Do I want to be coached, skills, knowledge of the game, and mentally?
What will I accomplish without a coach and is that acceptable for me reaching my goals? I'm either ready to be coached or I'm not?
