About
I am a professional actor, director, teacher, coach for over 40 years. The last 18 years, I have taught in public schools, private academies and universities. Actors in Dallas, Oklahoma, and those traveling to New York, Los Angeles & Chicago have sought my services. I have the reputation as a theatre professional to "make it happen" onstage or film. I choose to live and work in Oklahoma because the talent and opportunities here are wonderful. I have performed with Improvisation troupes in OKC, Dallas, Austin and Houston. I have had the passion for theatre since I knew what it was, at age 6. I have been performing and working since that time. With that in mind, I know all of the local theatres and their directors. I share audition notices and have sent many students on to work on their own. I love the theatre arts. There is nothing better.
Teaching someone the joys of performing is great! Opening up their hearts and souls to other's lives helps with empathy and life in general. I love to perform myself so to impart that ability onto someone else is more than fulfilling.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get to know what they think their strengths and weaknesses are. We move slowly at first until I feel like they are ready to branch out. The students will learn a lot about improvisation, which helps with interviews. They will learn a lot about themselves, what they have experienced and how to utilize those feelings/experiences.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BFA in Acting Performance from the University of Oklahoma
Professional apprenticeship with the Alley Theatre in Houston
Private training in Dallas - Larry Alexander
16 years at the Pollard Theatre in Guthrie - acting, directing, costuming, dialect and acting coaching
Taught ages 5-18 at Oklahoma Children's Theatre
Taught middle school age students at Thelma Gaylord Academy (Lyric Theatre OKC)
Taught acting, stagecraft, writing, choreography, choir at Classen School of Advanced Studies, Harding Fine Arts Academy, Jarman Middle School
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
By accident really. A friend of mine asked me to teach at Oklahoma Children's Theatre and I fell in love. This was while I was working at The Pollard in Guthrie. I had already been an audition coach in Dallas for 3 years.
What types of students have you worked with?
All types - from age 5 through adult. Private and public education students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A former student came to me needing audition coaching for several auditions he had coming up. He went on to get every part he tried for.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Think about you. Make sure you get the person who will get the most out of you. This is your career.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do I want from this experience? Am I ready to truly let go and not be embarrassed or worry about looking silly? Am I ready to challenge myself?
