Miss B's Acting

About

I am a professional actor, director, teacher, coach for over 40 years. The last 18 years, I have taught in public schools, private academies and universities. Actors in Dallas, Oklahoma, and those traveling to New York, Los Angeles & Chicago have sought my services. I have the reputation as a theatre professional to "make it happen" onstage or film. I choose to live and work in Oklahoma because the talent and opportunities here are wonderful. I have performed with Improvisation troupes in OKC, Dallas, Austin and Houston. I have had the passion for theatre since I knew what it was, at age 6. I have been performing and working since that time. With that in mind, I know all of the local theatres and their directors. I share audition notices and have sent many students on to work on their own. I love the theatre arts. There is nothing better.

Teaching someone the joys of performing is great! Opening up their hearts and souls to other's lives helps with empathy and life in general. I love to perform myself so to impart that ability onto someone else is more than fulfilling.

gave personal attention to every one of her students. always gave good constructive criticism. knew when to push you but also knew when to step back and let you breath or when you were frustrated and just needed to cool down. my best memories of high school are thanks to her teaching instructions and because of her classes ive grown as a person

Brenda was the director for which I was a costumer. It was our first show working together. I found Brenda to be very professional, prepared for every rehearsal, kind and caring to all of the actors and crew. Id work with her again in a heartbeat!

I took classes from Brenda Williams in a childrens acting camp (age 8 - 10) and in high school. Both times, she instilled a love of theatre in me. Miss B was not only an excellent teacher, but she also took the time to guide me through a very rough period in high school. She was always willing to work at my pace, but continuously pushed me to try new things and take chances. Miss B taught me to use theatre as an emotional outlet, and my character grew as a result. In her courses I found a passion for stagecraft, acting, and improv. Her extensive knowledge in all three categories helped me prepare for a Bachelors in Theatre. Five years later, I still gush about my time learning from her with adoration. Could not recommend her enough. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ms. B was the most encouraging teacher I had during my time with her. Not only did she teach me how to hone a skill that I loved, but she also became a mentor to me in every other facet of my life. 5 stars, A++, 100%, and every other good grade I could give her.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to get to know what they think their strengths and weaknesses are. We move slowly at first until I feel like they are ready to branch out. The students will learn a lot about improvisation, which helps with interviews. They will learn a lot about themselves, what they have experienced and how to utilize those feelings/experiences.

By accident really. A friend of mine asked me to teach at Oklahoma Children's Theatre and I fell in love. This was while I was working at The Pollard in Guthrie. I had already been an audition coach in Dallas for 3 years.

All types - from age 5 through adult. Private and public education students.

A former student came to me needing audition coaching for several auditions he had coming up. He went on to get every part he tried for.

Think about you. Make sure you get the person who will get the most out of you. This is your career.

What do I want from this experience? Am I ready to truly let go and not be embarrassed or worry about looking silly? Am I ready to challenge myself?
