Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We encourage all of our new students to try a class for free! This ensures that every single student that joins the Julia's family, is happy with and committed to the class and the genre(s) of dance that they've chosen.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our studio's owner Ms. Yulia has professional training in Russian classical ballet, more specifically the Vaganova Method, which she received in Tashkent, Uzebekistan. All of our instructors are long-time dancers themselves, and our primary ballet instructor Ms. Catie has a Bachelor's Degree in Dance Education from the University of Oklahoma.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We enourage all new students to try a class for free! After that we have monthly tuition fees. Please call us any time to inquire about pricing!
How did you get started teaching?
Yulia Zhmutski founded Julia’s Dance Academy in 2009 out of a desire to share her passion for dance with the Norman community and beyond!
What types of students have you worked with?
Julia's Dance Academy has worked with every kind of student, at various ages, in multiple genres of dance. We consider ourselves a family here at Julia's and we'd love to have you become a part of it!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Julia's would encourage possible future students to first ask themselves what kind(s) of dance they'd like to learn or what dance styles and genres they have a passion for? Dance should be challenging but FUN! If you're doing what you love, we love being a part of it!
