Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I begin with an overall assessment process to gauge our starting point. I also make sure I take time to get to know students and build rapport. Whether I’m teaching dance or tutoring, I want to make sure my students are comfortable. From there, we work on making improvements and building confidence!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education and an Oklahoma teaching certification. I have been teaching for three years. As for dance, I started dancing at age 4 and originally attended Oklahoma City University’s prestigious dance program before discovering my passion for teaching. I have choreographed four musicals and have taught dance to students with disabilities at the high school level. I currently coach a middle school dance team.

How did you get started teaching?
I was always going to be a professional dancer, but when I taught dance to kids with special needs, I discovered my love for teaching! I changed my major to education and I know I made the right decision.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students at elementary, middle, and high school levels. I also teach adults.
