About
At Allstar Ballroom Dance Company (ABDC) we believe that our success is found within helping our students to achieve their goals!
ABDC has been owned and opperated for the last 16 years, and was founded by Jon Hamilton who currently has 24 years of experience teaching Ballroom Dance in the Tulsa and OKC areas...
We have been trained by an eclectic range of resources, helping us and allowing us to look at things from a broad point of view, especially when it comes to our students, their individual learning styles, and personality traits... We have competed and won several awards, and are well known and respected specifically within the Tulsa and OKC areas, but also within the dance industry as a whole...

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with new students, we typically invite them to try out our "Introductory Package". This allows both them and us to become aquainted with one another, the learning styles and personality types that we are working with and most importantly introduces the newest student to an overview of the BIG PICTURE! We have many years of experience and training that can be used to the students advantages and allows them to tap into their greatest potential. All we ask is for open communication about what the students would like to achieve so that we can tailor a dance program to best fit their needs and desires!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Collectively, we have education and training in teaching/education, psycology, business, learning styles, personality traits, commuication, physics, bio-mechanical engineering, music, dance, counseling, etc.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
As the owner of ABDC, I have danced since I was 10 years old... had always enoyed it and felt passionate about this expressive art! Once I had arrived in the Tulsa area, began working for a local ballroom dance studio and began my training process and still continue to study and learn from expert coaches and judges with greater experience to continue to master this art, skill, and science!
What types of students have you worked with?
We have worked with many varities of students, from Dr.s, Lawyers, Artist, School Teachers, Children, Nurses, Business owners, Accountants, Hearing impaired, etc.
We also have worked with many ages, Races, and people with disabilities.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Honestly, a recent event I am fond of is each and every passing day as I always continue to learn and grow in my teaching experiences with each and everyone of my students on a daily basis!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The advice I might venture to share with any beginning level students would probably be to come to each lesson with an open mind... A cup that's full can't contain anything additional, nor can a sponge sop up anything else, until either the cup has been emptied or the sponge rung out... So, in order to contain or absorb new information, we need to keep our minds open to the possibilities!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Questions students should consider might be questions such as... Why? When? How? Where? & Who?
Why am I interested in pursuing ballroom dancing? This question will lead to other deep, self-reflecting quesitons that can be sorted through with one of our dance teachers.
When should I begin? There's no time like the present! We all have to ask ourselves, "When can I fit this into my schedule?"
How can I make this fit into my busy lifestyle?
Where should I go for lessons? It is very important to find the right environment, teacher, and so forth when investing in yourself, so it is always recommended to look around, and find the best fit for you BEFORE committing to any one place... For example, LONG TERM- it might be well worth the drive time and gas money to get yourself into and in front of a studio and teacher that can most effectively help you achieve your goals, rather than shopping for convenience.
Who should I take lessons from and Who is this adventure for? This is your journey and everyone that you meet will be a part of it... take your time and make the best decisions possible, investigate your potential opportunities, and enjoy the process!
