My name Is Ms. Natasha and I am a master dance instructor. I've been teaching dance movement for over 20 years. I teach youth and young adults of all ages how to utilize their dance movement and mind to help cope with stressful situations that they face.
I teach many different forms of dance: Old school hip hop, jazz, contemporary, theatre, ballet, and modern. I am also a master instructor at Harwelden institute and an Artist in the Schools. Positive Performing Arts Association also do outreach in our community regularly. We work with "at risk" teens and young adults. We are here to make a difference in the lives of our youth. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Each student is different and have qualities that are unique. Students are placed with their age group accordingly. Some are eventually made mentors once shown leadership qualities in the class room.
The older peers will set an example and bring about positive influence by leading by example. This will help to bring about growth in the students confidence, dance technique, attitude, and goals.
Each student will encourage and motive one another to not give up but, to stick with their training in the class room and out of the class room as the instructor teaches. Self and Group motivation is very important to bring about success within the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Minors in Dance at Northeastern State University, a master teach at Harwelden institute, Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa, an Artist in the Schools.
