I have over 20 years of teaching experience with USPTA and PTR certifications. I'm the Tennis Director at Shipley and provide private lessons and clinics at the Shipley School tennis courts in Bryn Mawr. The courts are immaculate, well equipped with extensive training equipment and ball machines for your use. The courts and facility provide on-time, secure - guaranteed access and clean restrooms.

I have a gained a reputation as a high performance player development specialist and match strategist. I have played and competed since the age of five. I hold both a USPTA (United States Professional Teaching Association) and USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry) tennis professional certification. I have spent time studying, learning and teaching at IMG Academy, Sanchez-Casal, PTR and USTA player development centers. Through my experience I've earned additional certification as a PTR High Performance instructor and have been awarded the “USTA Facility of the Year Award”, developing the programs that produced numerous PIAA champions, junior, collegiate, state and nationally ranked players along with National Champion USTA Teams.

In association with Lead’N Edge Tennis, an area leader in delivering inexpensive public access to tennis lessons, I also have availability and court access in Malvern, Downingtown and West Chester near my home. Don is awesome! Rarely will you find someone of his caliber who teaches tennis and really knows how to communicate. Don is always on-time and I love his follow-up notes he sends us about our lessons and what we can work-on. I was a 2.5 now Im a 3.5 and now he coaches my beginner son who just made his high school team. My friends and I couldnt be happier.

Frequently asked questions

I first like to see and discuss what the individual or groups goals are.  While some are looking for performance training and playing the sport at the highest level many are looking to learn how to play and enjoy the game as a lifelong sport.

In our first lesson we will be looking to set a baseline and then start planning and working towards a goal measuring along the way.
