About

As a teacher and a coach, I am focused on helping actors to analyze their texts in close detail so that they can make imaginative and compelling choices in performance. Every process is unique, but script analysis is always the foundation which I build upon with students. From there we may explore targeted movement exercises, animal study, improvisation, or other methods and exercises in an effort to "unlock" this text for a student, both physically and mentally.

The moment of discovery. Acting is a profund exercise in empathy, and there is something truly remarkable that happens when an actor discovers their character in rehearsal through themself. These moments can be fleeting, but they are exciting, inspiring, and they help actors understand that they are worth pursuing in every rehearsal and performance.

    Frequently asked questions

In 2018 I completed my Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of Essex (East 15 Acting School). While I was studying in England I also completed an educational residency at Shakespeare's Globe as part of the program.

I also hold a BA in English and Theatre Arts from Providence College (2013), and have been an active member of the RI theatre community since 1997.

I began directing while finishing my undergraduate degree at Providence College, and returned that fall as a guest artist to direct their Opera (and Musical Theatre) Workshop for the next three years. During those years (2013-2016) I also directed the musicals at East Providence High School, and worked as a summer camp counselor for the theatre program at Immaculate Conception

While I have directed and taught students in elementary and middle schools, the majority of my experience has been focused on working with students in high school and college, and beyond.
