Acting Coach - Patrick Mark Saunders
About
As a teacher and a coach, I am focused on helping actors to analyze their texts in close detail so that they can make imaginative and compelling choices in performance. Every process is unique, but script analysis is always the foundation which I build upon with students. From there we may explore targeted movement exercises, animal study, improvisation, or other methods and exercises in an effort to "unlock" this text for a student, both physically and mentally.
The moment of discovery. Acting is a profund exercise in empathy, and there is something truly remarkable that happens when an actor discovers their character in rehearsal through themself. These moments can be fleeting, but they are exciting, inspiring, and they help actors understand that they are worth pursuing in every rehearsal and performance.
