Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Having them experience a trial class of their choosing and then discuss what they did or did not like about the class. They might need to either choose a different style or genre.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have my B.A. in dance from DeSales University, PA.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
We have a standard pricing system for each type/length of class that a student takes. We charge by the month and give discounts on 1 or more classes.
How did you get started teaching?
Right out of college! Couldn't wait to get started!
What types of students have you worked with?
All types/ages. We start the students at age 3 and currently I have an adult tap class with the oldest student being 71!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Our performance company just completed their spring performance of "Henri". A new collaborative full lenght prodction based on Henri Matisse's art work.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
You need to be comfortable and feel welcomed within the studio. The teachers should have their degree in their field as well, but most importantly, that the atmosphere is positive and nurturing.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The time that is required for you to be there. Is this just an extra curricular activity or do you want to be more serious? That way the teacher knows which way to guide you.
