About this pro

Dance classes for Individuals with Disabilities. Our Mission is to "Enrich the Lives of Individuals with Disabilities through Dance!"

Sunshine Ambassadors, Inc. is a public charity (501-c-3) whose mission is to enrich the lives of individuals with disabilities through dance, utilizing both structured classes and public performances.  We emphasize “progression” for individuals and the group, rather than “perfection” of either. Progression for one dancer may be learning to follow directions and to stay focused; another dancer may learn the joy of being active; one may improve in gross motor skills, while another may learn to work together in a group setting.

Sunshine Ambassadors Dance is very rewarding!  We not only express ourselves through dance classes and practice, but we perform over 20 times a year to help teach others about the importance of inclusion, programs like ours, and to help spread awareness!!

SA offers weekly classes and numerous public performances throughout the year.  We work with all disabilities including, but not limited to Down syndrome, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, and more.

Many of our Instructors have experience in the fields of Mental Health, Special needs education, or are family members of individuals with disabilities. Our program using movement and music, therefore we create our own dancers and choreography.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Sunshine Ambassadors is a non-profit 501(c)3 charity orgainzation.  Therefore we are donation based.  A student can give what they can afford per lesson up to $10 per lesson.

How did you get started teaching?

I began working with SA in 2010 as an instructor and grant writer.  My little sister, who has Down syndrome, has been a dancer since 2008.  I am now the Executive Director and help teach 4 of the local classes.

Many of my instructors are also in the field of Special Education, Mental Health, or have a family member in the group or with disabilities.

SA has worked with dancers 2 years old up to 95.  We can work with dancers in wheelchairs, walkers, leg braces, and more.  We also can work with all mental health, intellectual, or developmental disabilities.
