Fred Sims Choreo

About

Well rounded choreographer, specializing in majorette, hip-hop, commercial hip-hop, pom, jazz, african, theatrics, acrobats/gymnastics...very open in working with a wide range of ages!

I enjoy choreographing and teaching many individuals because the art form allows me to standout in a whole another world and level of creativity. I love to inspire and empower many individuals who have passions for dancing and learning choreography.

I have been teaching dance for over 20 years, here in Memphis. I have created many award winning routines as seen on Bring It! (Credits include "The Memphis Prancing Tigerettes", "Infamous Dancerettes", Golden High Steppers, and The Sparkling Diamondettes). I have choreographed routines for "World of Dance "Atlanta" and "Dallas"...while working with "M-town Image".

Im one of the most known, well-rounded choreographers in Memphis!

He’s very creative, His work ethic is insane, he uses a great balance of artistry and athleticism in his choreography which is why i love his choreography so much. Also, he focuses more so on the quality of choreography than the quantity.

Fred’s choreo was very challenging and different for me. I wasn’t very comfortable with it, because it’s not my cup of tea, but it was great to struggle through something new rather than giving up. However, it was a fun experience learning it and showing it to the judges.

    Frequently asked questions

Typically, We warm up with many stretch routines and exercises.  We may run...to get the body warmer.  I demonstrate the choreography...then begin teaching each move in a "detailed" way...very detailed instructions...for beginners...I teach at a specific pace!

Most of my training and experience comes from years of competing on many danceteams, crews, and groups...I recieved some techinical training through "New Ballet Ensemble and School"  Ive trained and took many classes from industry choreographers for many years!  I have many years of competitive dance instruction here in Memphis!

When working with competitive danceteams, I normally charge per dancer...10 or more dancers=$10 per dancer, per session! Sessions are from 1 to 2 hours per day! Some teams rehearse 2 to 3 days a week...while some teams need choreography and a competitive routine within a week!

Private lessons are $35 per hour

Workshops...inquire about rates based on number of students!

I began teaching as I became a teen...I was one of the season and experienced dancers...Our teacher hired me as an assiatant choreographer and Ive been teaching since 2004!

Ive worked with all ages and races!

My most recent project is working with my newly formed junior competitive hip hop crew ages 5-17!  My son even dances on the team!  I love working with the little ones!

Always ask questions and dnt be afraid to step out of your comfort zone when learning different genres of dance!  Always ask your teacher when you have questions or concerns...

I would ask any question...no question is a dumb question!
