Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach out of the Garden Groove studio in East Nashville (Garden-Groove.com) for either 30 Min Lessons or 1 Hour Lessons.
Garden Groove lets us have quick access to a drum kit but also lets us record on the spot which has been great for teaching.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been fortunate enough to study with the greats! I am a former student of many teachers, one of the bigger names being Gordy Knudtson (Steve Miller Band), and I have played and studied all styles!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I'm charing $65 an Hour and $33 a Half Hour
How did you get started teaching?
When I was 13 I began to teach my friends and neighbors because I was the new cool kid on the block with the fresh red Tama stage star drum kit. I realized how much I liked seeing those moments when something would click in a student's head and they would be able to play something new, and I have been teaching since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with 5-year-old kids to 70-year-old adults, touring artists to first-day drummers. All styles are welcome!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The best teachers are the ones that have a clear understanding of YOUR goals and know how to best improve on your strengths.
