I customize my approach with each student according to capability rather than curriculum and gravitate toward motivated students. Prior experience with a musical instrument is a great but beginners who are committed can succeed. Like students, I'm driven and motivated by small accomplishments and seeing the lights go on. I evaluate the student's ability in the moment at each lesson and try to give the student a solid, useful skill or technique each time....

I teach all ages. Start piano usually around 6 years old Start guitar students at 6 on ukelele then to 1/2 or 3/4 size guitar around 9. Flute students usually start around 5th or 6th grade.
