Beverly Rector- Private And Group Lessons For The Theatre, Visual Arts, Home Decorating
About
In my family I was always the “Creative One” and constantly engaged in multiple creative outlets: crafts, art, writing, theatre, room design and decor, etc. I have a degree in Theatre/Speech/Education and have teaching experience for grades K-12. I have also owned a “painting” business for 4 years and taught numerous paintings to classes of 2 to 40. In addition we conducted art camps over the summer and offered private lessons as well. I am a certified Home Stager/Decorator and can do consulting or lessons for this as well.
My first priority is to make a connection with my client. We need to get to know each other and develop a rapport that will give us a fondation of trust for us to achieve the best learning environment for our time together. Another part of making a connection is gaining a clear understanding of goals so that each lesson can be customized. We will do this through interactive games, creative exercises, vocal and physical warm-ups, and just playing , having fun, and talking.
Once we feel comfortable together and have written some goals I will propose a plan for devloping the skills needed to reach your creative goals.
I offer lessons for the world of Theatre that can incorporate any of the following areas:
- Acting
- Improvisation
- Basics of Costuming, Set Design, Stage Management
- Auditioning
In the Visual Arts Category I offer lessons that may incorporate any of the following areas:
- Principles of Design
- Art History
- Painting (Acrylics, oils, and water colors)
- Collage
- Mixed Media
For Home Staging and Decorating I offer consulting and/or lessons on room design, shopping, decorating, staging. I specialize in working on small budget design and repurposing things to give your home/room a fresh new look.
If you decide to work with me in any creative endeavor my goal is to help you discover YOUR talents and put them to work.
I love all aspects of the creative process and enjoy meeting people. When I have the opportunity to "marry the two" I am definitely in my happy place. Teaching is the the best of all things - you get to do something you love and are passionate about and pass it on to someone else.
