Andy is very approachable and down to earth. It's clear that Andy genuinely cares about his students and has a passion for teaching. I was impressed by Andys knowledge and drive for perfection, and would recommend him to anyone from beginner to advanced.

Mr. Pruyn takes what makes percussion exciting and truly breaks down the technical aspects and makes you develop a true passion and appreciation for all things percussion. Andy has taught at both Middle School and Highschool levels and knows how to approach all levels of knowledge on reading music. I highly recommend Andy Pruyn’s Percussion Studio.

Andy is very passionate about teaching his kids and loves what he does. My son started lessons in the 6th grade and was able to place in the top 3 for Regionals and State up until the 8th grade and move on to marching band in High School. He could not have achieved this without the help of Andy.

Andy was personable, kind, and encouraging to my daughter. He’s a talented and professional instructor and percussionist.

I ask students to tell me what they want to learn or improve on.  I then lay out a plan of technique and coordination exercises, grooves, and songs to help the student achieve those goals.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a Bachelor's degree in music education from Northern Kentucky University.  I have 21 years of experience teaching percussion to youth & adults.
