About

Dedicated to helping students understand the dances from their culture, by the movements, and with the music. More than just catering to the needs and wants of the learner, I strive to help create goals and push for more. All while educating them in proper social dancing etiquette. The history and "roots" of any craft will always grow stronger with new people and New Roots.

Always love to see people grow and become more comfortable not only with their body and body movements, but with themselves.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to see what their reason it is for wanting to learn. Confidence builder, something to meet people, impress that person they're trying to talk to, or other. Get a feel for how much or how little they may know already. After that lessons are always taught from the ground up. Basics to advanced at the learners pace.

Lesson plans can be built loose and open or fully detailed depending on the goals of each student.

I have been dancing socially for eight plus years learning from great instructors from throughout Texas, the U.S., and even a few International talents. I have danced on two seperate performance teams, been a part of two studios, and attend workshops and congresses when possible for additional training.

Currently my rates are for lessons which last a full hour are:

    $50 for individual lessons

    $170 for 4

    $300 for 8

Note that these are lesson prices are for privates lessons only up to two people. Other rates can be given upon asking. Additional costs are added if a partner/second instructor is needed.

Dance has always been a passion of mine and I actually began teaching hip hop for performances with multicultural oganizations in college. After years of being in the latin dance scene I had intended on become an instructor, when two former college friends approached me with an opprotunity at their new studio.

I have worked with a wide range of ages. From children in 2nd grade for after school programs to older adults looking to still get the most out of life.

Has to be Dallas Bachta Festival this past October! Each year gets a little bigger and a little better. Got to connect with people from out of town as well as out of state during the festival. Now we're making travel plans for dance events around the country next year.

Not every teacher is the same and each has their own focus for classes and students. Some are a little more technical and some go for an "experience". Try at least three different teachers to get a feel for what you want.

How much time are they willing to invest in building the skill?

What goals do they have for gaining this skill? Performance, social, confidence etc.

Do they have any injuries that may inhibit certain movements?

Most importantly, are they ready and willing to fully try?
