J. Bailey has been giving my son and daughter drum lessons for many years. He started with both of them when they were five y/o and my son is now in 8th grade. J. Bailey was amazing at tailoring his lessons to each child’s learning style and adopting unique approaches (LEGO sheet music!) to keep things fun and interesting for them. My son entered his middle school band significantly more advanced than the other children and has done quite well playing percussion. I’m very happy we chose J. Bailey to teach our children. My kids love him, he was always prompt and never cancelled lessons and he was very flexible with our schedule.

Jon gave my younger sister(aged 10 at the time) lessons. She worked with him for about 2years. She is now 14years old, LOVES the drums, plays in the school band and has developed so much from his teachings. They really do last a lifetime. The amount of care, love and passion he puts into teaching is amazing. Highly recommend.

Kids love their classes! One (5 yrs) takes band class with 3 other kids and is learning Drums and guitar. 17 mo. old boy loves his baby and mom/dad class dancing and playing with the tamborine etc to music. Very upbeat and positive teachers!

I can’t say enough about my time studying with Perdomo. I was in my early 20’s and had spent my life up to that point studying classical percussion. I wanted to learn how to formally play the drum kit, but I had no idea where to start. Perdomo opened that world up for me. He rebuilt me from the ground up, adjusting my technique to work on the drum kit, helping me with independence, and expanding my knowledge of grooves, music, and drum kit chart reading. Eventually, we started diving into the complex rhythmic structures and grooves of Afro-Cuban music, and I even spent time with him developing some basic conga technique. The most important thing that I took away from my time with Perdomo was this; he didn’t just show me what to practice. He taught me HOW to practice. While I haven’t studied with him in a little while, he gave me the tools to be able to help myself in any musical situation that I find myself in. I’m now a first call sub drummer for Broadway’s Hamilton and have performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. I owe a huge amount of that Perdomo, and will always be grateful for my time with him.
