Acting With Steve
About
I have decades of experience, as an actor, a playwright, a director and a producer. I am Artistic Director of SceneShop, a grassroots theatre in Fort Worth, now entering its 24th year. My written work has been produced in Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, Knoxville, and Portland, OR. Whether acting, writing, directing, or just helping shape the way a story will be told, I love connecting with the audience.
I love storytelling. It's one of the oldest human activities. And I love working with others, especially young persons.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
There are theories about acting that ared worth discussing, and also some great performsances in film ortelevision I'd encourage a person interested in acting to see. But I think doing - and getting feedvack- is the best model.I think a studnet needs to be up on their feet, going threu a scene or monologue, reading a poem, even just telling a story. The point is to leasrn how to use your (and uniquely YOUR) voice, face and body to create a character, and convey a message. There shouild always be more questions than answers, and it should nearly always be fun.
