About
Acting Up Studios is a unique approach to learning how to act and perform for stage, tv and Film. We are all in the business and come with first hand knowledge on how to be successful in this industry. We don’t use typical boring non useful approaches to teaching acting, we start where you are and help you to improve vastly. We also show you how to be a professional and market yourself to help you and your business grow as an actor. I’ve been acting professionally for 12 years and acting period my whole life, I grew up in it. I’ve been in numerous productions in almost every theater in the city and many around the country. I’ve worked with and have been taught by some of the best. I’m still growing and learning more about my craft daily which helps me to stay current in my teaching methods and how I relate to clients.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to first see where they are and what experience they might have. I then like to learn what goals they have and would like to accomplish. Then I create a special plan for us to get there through different exercises and performance workshops.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a degree in communications and theater.
I've worked at The Ensemble Theater, Alley Theater, Stages Theater, 4th Wall Theater, A.D Players Theater, The Hobby Center, and many more stages.
I continue to travel and work with many great directors and writers in the business.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching through thebtheaters I performed at as a teaching artist. It was there I was sent into many different schools across Texas to hold workshops and do classes on Theater.
What types of students have you worked with?
All Types.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Just finished performing in a show called The Ultimate Christmas Show at Stages Repretory Theater, it was an awesome run and experience.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find one that best suits you and your needs. Find one you can relate too and actually has experience in the industry and can prove it. Find a teacher that can do everything their trying to teach you to do. Find your right fit.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How serious as I about wanting to do this? Do I have enough time to commit to it fully? Who am I doing this for? Why do I want to pursue this?
