About
With 30+ years of experience teaching partner dancing to all ages and abilities I've learned to understand the goals of my clients and cater to them - rather than turn the students goals into "studio goals" to make money and keep the student doing competitions or routines. Sometimes performance or competition is or becomes the goals of the client but usually they just want to meet new people, have something to do together, socialize, prepare for a wedding or party ... HAVE FUN!!! Not spend thousands of dolars learning dances they can rarely do outside the studio setting.
My greatest pride and accomplishment is helping normal people learn to enjoy each other on the dance floor and enhance their life experiences with dancing. I love helping beginners get past the nerves, fear and awkwardness of starting.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1. We usually start with a phone call so I that I can get an idea of best studio location for you - Hurst, Downtown Dallas Or Carrollton. And your goals.
2. We schedule a lesson and get you started with a couple of basic patterns and a turn in 1 or more dances.
3. We schedule a second lesson and make sure these patterns are going well and usually add a move or two.
4. We evaluate whether this is all you need or plan within time and budget what might be good to start toward meeting your goals. Options of going lesson by lesson or small packages at a discount.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started with the Arthur Murray dance studios in 1982 and got some great dance training. In 1994 I became independant and started teaching, competing and judging on the National Swing Dance Circuit. I traveled 200 - 300 days a year for over 10 years teaching, coaching and getting coaching from many of the best instructors and champions in the country.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My regular rate for a private lesson is $75 a 55 minute hour (this includes studio fees and up to 4 people can share this lesson)
The first 2 private lessons are discounted to $60 per hour as we spend a bit of time working out goals and determining whther I am a good instructor for you - If not I will refer you to another top instructor.
After your first 2 lessons there are discounts for prepaid blocks of 5 or 10 lessons.
Thanksgiving to Jan 15 each year I run a Holiday special and all lessons are $60 an hour.
ALL WEDDING related lessons are $60 an hour - I LOVE WEDDINGS
How did you get started teaching?
My mom will tell you I came out dancing ... Ballet at 4 and for 9 years until I was 16. I also did some tap, modern, hip hop and gymnastics. Then while in college, disco was BIG and I needed a job so I trained and started teaching for Arthur Murray Studios.
What types of students have you worked with?
Mostly normal folks, couples, newly single, Bride and Groom, Father and Bride, Mother and Groom, Handicapped, Blind, Deaf, Motor difficulties, Wheel Chair Mobil, Autistic ... 12 - 90 years young.
Some think they have no rhythm ... if you have a heart beat you have rhythm we just have to get it into your body ...
Those that think they have 2 left feet -- Left #1 and Left #2 works -- you just need 2 feet!
