Mr. Johnson has been teaching privately for 20 years in Texas. He currently maintains a large tuba and Euphonium studio at The Woodlands HS north of Houston. When teaching lessons Mr. Johnson can be found performing as a freelance musician with local orchestras, in solo recitals, or with Space City Brass quintet-a brass quintet which he founded. Prior to his current position, Mr. Johnson was a musician in the United States Navy, performing ceremonial duties and public outreach concerts with a wide variety of musical styles including Dixieland, Classical, Rock, R&B, New Orleans style Brass Band, and more. D K Piano Studio, based in Jersey Village, Houston, Texas, and surrounding areas, was founded in 1997. Specializing in piano performance, music theory, and music history, they offer an intensive education in diverse music genres such as Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and Contemporary. They aim to cultivate a love of music in students of all ages. With a maximum capacity of 25 to 30 students, the studio currently has space for about five more, providing weekly lessons and group sessions multiple times a year, along with two annual recitals.
