Hello! My name is Patrick Snarr (24 years old) and I am an Austin area golf coach and PhD student at the University of Texas Austin! I started playing the game of golf at 3 years old and haven't looked back since. I love the challenge of the sport, but also the lasting friendships that it provides! After competing at the highest level of college, I have now turned to using my past and current experiences to help others get better at this trying yet outstanding game!
As a former division I collegiate golfer and a graduate student studying mechanical engineering, I have learned to combine my athletic knowledge and physical understanding of golf swing physics to help golfers of all skill levels. My teaching philosophy is to provide my students with the fundamental knowledge needed to understand why their ball behaves the way it does in the air. After this understanding is reached, we can discuss the changes in the golf swing that can be made to change the ball flight behavior.

The best thing about golf in my eyes is the everlasting mission towards perfection. No matter the skill level, there are always improvements that can be made. Teaching golf allows me to help people in their mission to perfection while establishing friendships that last a lifetime. The combination of these two factors has me obsessed (in a good way) with the game of golf!
First lesson I’ve ever taken after many years of figuring out the swing on my own. Patrick helped me check my fundamentals and worked with what I considered my weakness in my swing. It was easy tip to work on and it seems to be paying off With my first few rounds! Hitting the ball more solid then before. Nice guy to boot!
Knowledgeable and helpful
Great first lesson he helped to go over the fundamentals and even went into the mechanics of my swing
The first lesson I have with all students is a lesson on the fundamentals of golf. Topics in this lesson will include the grip, setup, alignment, and what factors govern the flight of the golf ball. This is normally a discounted lesson that gives the student a chance to decide if they want to move forward with me as their coach. From here, the next lessons dive into the students swing, and start to develop a plan to improve the aspects of the swing that are deemed problematic.
I have competed at the division I collegiate level and worked in the golf industry for over 8 years. I also have completed an engineering degree where I have used my scientific knowledge to gain a better understanding of the golf swing.
