I love acting, performing and directing. I believe basic acting skills help you in every day life to be more poised, confident and help hone listening skills. It is a true delight for me to see the "light-bulb" go off when a student fully grasps a new concept or idea.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I talk with the student to understand their personal goals and where they are in their journey. Then we customize lessons based on the students needs.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been involved in every aspect of theater since the age of 6. I studied acting in high school and at NTSU. Studied Improv with Nancy Fine of Second City who was a student of Viola Spolin and extensive on camera acting classes. Currently I direct and act for several local theaters, as well as perform improv monthly with the Frisco Improv Players.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My standard is $45 per hour if you travel to me or on line. There is a trip charge if I travel to your location.

How did you get started teaching?

It was a natural process over the years.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with all levels of students  from beginning to advanced and ranging from age 6 to 80!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I was working with a young actress to bring out her confidence on stage to play the role of a torch singer. We worked with her focusing on the words in the script and song for the meaning behind them to motivate her actions. I call it acting from the heart. She got the part!!!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure you feel safe and comfortable with the instructor and that they listen to your goals.  Acting is a process, but it should be fun and a positive experience.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What is your end goal? What is your why for studying acting?
