Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I start out with 2 brief introductory private lessons that are very low in pressure and high in fun. This way my students and I can get to know each other and I can help them create some goals for their dancing without a big commitment upfront.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I currently compete professionally in the International Latin division. I have been dancing/training/teaching for over 15 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are $85 each.
If you buy 10, they are $70 each.
Lessons are 45 min in length.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been dancing various styles since I was a teenager. I started teaching at a ballroom when I was 19 and loved it so much that I made it my life's passion and career. Now I both teach and compete in ballroom (latin) professionally.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I was a pro for a "dancing with the stars" charity recently (colleyville rotary club). The Star dancers were so into it! That always makes a project really fun when your student is totally hardcore!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's very important that you have a comfortable, relaxed relationship with your instructor. You're likely to be working together for a long period of time. It's OK to look around a bit and make sure you find a teacher that fits you well :-).
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Definitely think about what kind of time commitment you want to make while learning a new skill like dance! It's great to factor in how many lessons you may want per week, as well as your own practice time and going out and using the skills you learned in class.
