Acting Lessons And Audition Prep
About
I am an actress based in Dallas who graduated from Oklahoma City University with a BFA in Acting. In addition to performing, I have worked in growing my passion for teaching theatre to others. Since graduating, I have been able to teach for organizations such as Junior Players and Drama Kids, as well as local theaters such as Rockwall Community Playhouse and Studio B Performing Arts. I believe that access to the arts is essential for every person, and I am hoping that by starting one on one lessons, I can share that with even more students.
My favorite thing is seeing something "click" for my students. When people brand new to theatre find their passion and excitement for it, I feel that I've done my job well, and all that's left is to continue stoking that flame.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to first find out about who they are as a person-- the best way to be successful in the arts is to make it personal. I would also like to learn about their personal goals for pursuing classes-- is it to develop a hobby, to feel more comfortable with public speaking, to try something new? Whatever it is I like to hone in on that to come up with a personalized lesson plan for each student so we can tackle those goals head on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BFA in Acting: Oklahoma City University
Masters (in progress) in Arts Leadership and Cultural Management, emphasis in Education: Colorado State University
Continued training and workshops through professional organizations.
How did you get started teaching?
My love of teaching stemmed from a passion for directing. I taught summer camps during college, and realized how much a truly enjoyed working one on one with actors. From there, I realized I could take that and make it what I do all the time, not just in the realm of a rehearsal room, and I have been loving it ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I am fortunate that I have worked with students all over the metroplex from beginner to advanced in skills. I also have experience working with students with special needs, which I hope to do more of in my professional career. Anyone can find their place in the theatre, and I would love to be someone who helps you with that!
