About
We coach and train serious competitive players. Your competition may be your brother or your buddies on Saturdays or the top amateurs and professionals in the world, either way we set the bar high for effort and persistence.
Our philosophy for great golf involves all facets of performance: physical, emotional and technical.
Everyone I meet and help allows me to experience their enjoyment and love for the game. Golf has given me so much and still gives me a purpose everyday.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
All great players follow 5 principles that we have developed into our curriculum:
#1 - While learning and improving one must give up their belief in common sense. Everything in golf is exactly the opposite of what we believe to be commonsensical.
#2 - Better ball striking comes from understanding the principle of leverage and efficient (simple and free) movement. The less something pivots and rotates on a given joint in the body the less likely the clubface is to swing off the intended path.
#3 - Leverage is created from the ground up. Our lower body is our foundation for creating speed and power. Our larger muscles are located mostly in the lower body - glutes, hamstrings and quads. Our feet are pivot points between the ground and the club that hold the key to our ability to rotate and create speed with effortless power.
#4 - Talent can be grown. Plain and simple. Following slow deliberate moves with positive, negative and neutral feedback gives your brain the energy currents to develop physical knowledge. This is why God gave us myelin.
#5 - The use of technology is paramount. Mirrors, lasers, robots, 3D tracking, radars are a necessity in the modern learning of golf.
BONUS Tenet: Playing the game... on a golf course... is not the same as swinging and working during a lesson. One must give up control of anything that has to do with their swing during a round of golf. The only control you have during a round of golf is your playing focus.
Our players receive a comprehensive swing and physical assessment during the first phase of our program:
- Ball Flight Analysis
- Equipment Evaluation
- Functional Movement Screen
- V1 Golf Analysis
- Structural Fingerprint Exam
- Performance Preparation
- 9 Hole Course Management Session
- Titleist Performance Institute Assessment and Fitness Program
During our assessment we'll discuss your true desire to perform and how to set goals. We'll set a plan for achieving these goals and build a platform for accountability.
As a convenience, your first performance assessment will be at The Polo Field Golf Center at 915 E. Mulberry Ave San Antonio, Texas 78212.
We'll schedule a playing lesson within 10 days to assess your emotion, demeanor and approach to the strategy of your game if we decide to work as a team.
Even if we decide not to continue, you have access to your assessment and swing analysis for life online at https://edufii.com/i/0ec55f7546 - all active members of San Antonio Golf Performance are not charged a monthly access fee for Edufii.

How did you get started teaching?
My passion for golf comes from my time spent playing with my family at Oak Forest Country Club in East Texas. After touring professionally in my 20s, building a business through marketing with golf in my 30s and now coaching full time for top Texas players in my 40s, I share my love of golf with everyone everyday.
What types of students have you worked with?
Top juniors, avid golfers, aspiring amateurs to professional grandparents.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Claudia Ramirez set a goal to qualify for the USGA Women's Mid-Am Championship. Over 5 months we worked side by side tuning her game for an intense one day 18 Hole qualifier at Champions in Houston. She missed medalist by 1 shot.
Next season she sets her goals higher with placing in the top 10 of all USGA National Championships
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Are you available 24/7 for advice and coaching? Yes, I'm just a phone call or a text away.
Do you provide online video training? Yes along with a library of drills and movement principles.
