About
My name is Lori Wells, my passion is teaching ballroom and country western dance. I have been teaching dance for over 35 years. I teach beginners, intermediate and advanced students. At this point in my life, being an empty nester, teaching dance has become my favorite hobby. Most of my clients are empty-nesters or couples that have some spare time to learn something they have always wanted to do. I have quite a few group classes and I also teach private lessons. Come and see what you've been missing and learn to dance.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do when working with a new student is get them familiar counting music. We will start by clapping to the beat and eventually walking to the beat and before you know it they’re dancing .
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started off with Fred Astaire dance studio in the early 80s, I’ve been dancing for the last 35 years and over the course of that time I have had many many sessions training with various coaches and masters. I keep my curriculum fresh by continuing to update my syllabus with the latest style and dance moves. I’m currently taking dance lessons from the world champion swing dancer Carmen Goodman. I am a certified instructor in the bronze, silver, and gold syllabuses with Fred Astaire dance studio’s.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes device my lessons is $85 per lesson. I have small packages that you are able to get a discount if you buy five lessons to 10 lessons at a time.
How did you get started teaching?
I took a course in college of social dancing and I was hooked from then on.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all types of students over the past 35 years. Right now I primarily work with wedding couples and couples that are interested in social dance.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently took a group out on Sunday night to the wild west for some practice and some fun! We had a great time, I had five or six couples in attendance. It was really nice watching them change partners and being able to dance with a variety of partners.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Honestly, I would say to stay out of your big chain studios and try to find an instructor that has some experience. Also ask the instructor if they have any introductory specials.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I like with my students have a basic idea on how much time effort and expense they’re willing to put forth learning to dance.
