Acting Coach, Eb Madson

Hello, my name is at Eb Madson and I'm an acting coach in the Salt Lake- Ogden area. Acting has always been my passion. Even at a very young age it's what I said I wanted to do. I started doing comedy improv professionally at the age of 16. Performing with improv troops all over the state including quick wits, laughing stock, 3.2 Improv and even started my own troop in Ogden, called Off the Wall. It ran for over 13 years. I received my bachelor's at Fine Arts degree and theater from the University of Utah. Upon graduating f4om the U, I attended Ohio University where I received my Master's and Fine Arts Degree, with an emphasis in theater. I then promptly moved to New York. I live in New York for little under five years. There I became an equity actor and worked in many regional theaters on the east and west coast. Later I moved back to Utah, and now am currently the Artistic Director of the Ziegfeld Theater in Ogden. The Ziegfeld theater is also the resident theater company of the Egyptian theater, in Park City.

When I was in grad school, I would teach the undergrad classes. These would be filled with the most random mix of students you could imagin. Athletes, foriegn exchange students, frat bros, and shy freshmen coming out of their shells. Never in a million years would I think the mix of students would talk to one another in the real world. Theyd never be close friends and bond. But three years I taught classes it was incredible to see the bond the class would make through theater. Improv games, and scene work. It was incredible. Acting is such an amazing tool.
