About

Our beginning level classes (Tau'olunga, Boys Faiva and Ta nafa) are designed to give students an introduction to dance class structure and movement vocabulary, and to foster an appreciation of Tongan Dance. During each class session students will develop skills appropriate for their age and level,

which are incorporated into dance routines. Each level of instruction builds on skills learned in previous levels. At higher levels, students will develop complex skills and refine their dance technique in Fa'onelua Style, as well as increase their strength and mental focus. It is not uncommon to spend several sessions at any given level before progressing to the next level.

Meeting new students around the world and finding ways for them to connect dance with life. We value this opportunity to provide you with safe, affordable, quality dance instruction. Our goal is to foster youth development through equal positive interaction and role modeling, instilling self-esteem, confidence, self-discipline, and social skills. We strive to create a fun-filled environment where each student can thrive at his/her own pace. It is our philosophy that our students should not only enjoy their classes but also support and guide one another to become better dancers as well as better individuals.

A couple of weeks ago my oldest daughter Dhilan performed in her first recital dancing for #Faonelua. We joined the group back in Oct of 2020 and also enrolled in one-on-one lessons. She has so much to learn and improve on in learning this beautiful dance of the Tongan culture, but Im grateful that she has such a talented and patient teacher, Deeno Vainuku. If youre looking to have your child learn Tongan dancing, check out this group. Classes start back up in April. Dont wait too long to register your child, spots fill up quickly.

AMAZING is the word that comes to mind when describing Deeno!!! I married into a Tongan family last night and as a palangi wanted to do it right and come out with a complete surprise and bang at my reception. We spent countless practices full of great, vital instruction by Deeno which lead to more confidence and professionalism throughout learning my tau’olunga. He has the BEST personality which no matter your nationality allows you to feel welcomed and loved. Everyone around me said Deeno was the one to go to and now I know why! I highly encourage all of you, Tongan, palangi, etc. to go to Deeno. He truly is amazing and will make even a completely lost palangi girl feel confident and to do it right while embracing cultural Polynesian dancing. I know I’ll be sending my future children to him!

Deeno is a great! He teaches with so much love , passion, & positivity. He doesn’t criticize or tear the girls down if they mess up, but he will point it out and tell them in a very uplifting way... which is why my Henrietta LOVED & excelled in Tongan tau’olunga because of his style of teaching. I would definitely recommend Fa’onelua to anyone! I’m from Los Angeles and my daughter started Fa’onelua through his online classes. Deeno is also very professional. His response time is 👌🏽 great. Never had to wait long for a response if I had a question, even during his most busy days ( recital week.)
