Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Starting out with the American Cha Cha ballroom dance lesson. This dance teaches rythmn, how to count to the music, and a fun pace to start out the new students. As a student, once I did my first Cha Cha step, i was hooked on dance.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am former Ballroon Latin Champion, trianed under the direction of Lee and LInda Wakefield. I am an in-house choreographer for the Walt Disney Company Special Events with live stage shows that play at the Disney's El Capitian Theatre Hollywood BLvd. since 2002. I am a current SAG/AFTRA Performer and have extensive experience on TV, film and Videos. I am one of the choreographers for the BYU Ballroom Dance Team Champions. (my numbers are always in performed in the Black Light...MicGalaxy, MicTendo and MicTendo 2 were named after me.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I base my prices from what I feel is a fair and honest price. Asa choreographer and dance instructor, I teach more thena enough steps in a single lesson so one learns more dance in less time. My rate is $50.00 per couple or solo private lesson hour and $20.00 per person for group lesson hour of 4 or more particiapnts. (2 lesson hours minimum)
How did you get started teaching?
My parents were Ballroom Dance Teachers when they first got married and thought the kids should all learn social dance skills. The class was taught in a garage and soon the kids who trained there branched out to later become the California Ballroom Dance Team and won several World Championships.
What types of students have you worked with?
From the beginner who is searchng for a hobby to the top Broadway professional dancer level.
