Rubina Carmona
About
I am a flamenco dancer and singer with 50 years of experience in the United States and Spain. I've devoted myself to the traditional, gypsy style of flamenco dance. I emphasize solid technique and an understanding of the music as essential to the dancer. I am bilingual, so I welcome students who are primarily Spanish speakers. Since moving to Seattle, I've had two companies; the professional Carmona Flamenco and for the students, I directed La Pen~a Flamenca de Seattle. I also taught at American Dance institute for 25 years, and am now working at West Seattle Performing Arts. I offer private lessons in flamenco dance and singing at my home studio in West Seattle, and I also can design and make flamenco skirts and dresses for class or performance.
