About this pro

I am a professional ballroom dancer, Ukrainian Champion 2014, Master of Sports of Ukraine, have over 100 trophies, specialize in coaching kids, youth, and adults from beginners to advanced level in ballroom dancing. One of my youth couples took 2nd place at the World Championship in England. I teach gymnastics, ballet, jazz, social ballroom, and create choreographies for performing on stage. Have two bachelor's degrees related to pedagogical, physical and dance education. I am able to create different lesson programs focusing on entertainment or competitive results, balancing the level of difficulty on the abilities of my students. I always ensure proper stretching and warmup to prevent injuries. My two bachelor degrees are reflections of my proficiency in both the athletic and artistic qualities of dance. The degree in choreography was focused on different styles of dance (ballet, contemporary, folk, ballroom, etc.), I learned how to create choreography in dance and plan performances. I learned how to use psychological and pedagogical methods in developmental physical education. My degree in sport focused on the mechanics and physical aspects of dance. I focused on biochemistry of muscular activity, biomechanics, anatomy and sport morphology, gymnastics and methods of teaching, organization of recreation and sport activities, sport games and methods of teaching, as well as theory and methodology of physical education.

I love teaching because that's where I can change people's lives. I can make their lives even more interesting; I enjoy helping people have fun and create goals in their dancing. I feel that I add passion and inspiration into people's hearts, and they change their life for the best. I especially like when I see the results of my work: seeing how my students improved and how happy they are about that and want to improve even more.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My first lesson is centered around finding out what the student already knows, and where the holes are in their dance knowledge so I can determine what to focus on. We also speak about the student's goals, and then figure out the best way to proceed.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have two bachelor's degrees related to pedagogical, physical and dance education:

Bachelor of Choreography - Teacher of Choreography - Poltava V.G. Korolenko National Pedagogical University, Ukraine

Graduated - June 2015

Bachelor of Sport - Teacher of physical education, coach of the sport dance - Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture, Ukraine

Graduated - June 2016

I've been dancing all my life, participated in competitions and took a lot of lessons with famous ballroom teachers, improved through dance camps and workshops.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

My private lessons are 45 minutes long. If the lessons are held at home the price is 55$, + gas for car if I travel more than 10 miles; if it's held in studio the price is 70$. The group class price range is from 15$ up to 25$, depending on duration (45min- 1,5hour) and number of people.

How did you get started teaching?

In 2014 I opened my dance studio in Ukraine. I had students there starting at 3 years and up to 65. During my teaching career in Ukraine, my students have achieved great results. Several couples got into the top three in their age group not only in Ukraine but also in the world. Not long ago I moved to the USA and my dream is to grow beautiful dancers here and involve as many people as possible in the ballroom world.
