About

Tennis is a lifelong sport. This sport had such an impact on my life that I would like to make it a positive impact for others as well. Despite my busy schedule, I always try to make time for tennis because it is still a huge passion of mine. My experience and passion for the sport led me to pursue coaching on the side. For me, it's seeing people enjoying the sport and achieving their goals, whether it is short or long-term that keeps me going. I want to be able to work with my students to have fun, but also feel challenged and satisfied at this sport at whatever stage they are in.

I am a USTA 5.0 rated player with a total playing experience of 10+ years and coaching experience of 6 years. During my junior career, I was nationally ranked and was one of the top ranked players regionally in the Pacific Northwest. Some of my achievements include winning the WA high school state tennis championships twice and winning various junior championship tournaments across the U.S.

I enjoy working with all ages and skill levels as each provides the challenge of helping each student meet their goals. With my extensive experience and knowledge in tennis, I can help you become a better tennis player. I specialize in teaching beginners, and I put a lot of emphasis on teaching proper techniques and fundamentals.

I am also capable of coaching intermediate and advanced players who are looking to improve and play at the higher level. I have coached many USTA 3.0 and 3.5 rated players who ended up getting bumped up. For those who are more serious about improving their game at the competition/tournament level (USTA players), I can work on you with that.

Feel free to check out my website at www.dyutennis.com or contact me directly at [email protected] for further inquiries or if you have any questions. You can also contact me directly at my email if you would like to schedule individual lessons.

Regarding my price, I charge $125 an hour for one person and $150 an hour for two people.

Frequently asked questions

It depends on the student(s) level, as well as their needs and wants. For those that have previous tennis experience, I first have a brief consultation before the lesson on what is that they want to work on or improve on, and go on from there. For complete beginners, I create a personalized set of plans and goals and work our way on achieving those through a process. Please contact me directly at [email protected] if you have any other questions.
