About
I have bee in Theater for 47 years. I am British Trained as an actor. I work with intermediate to advanced students and focus on both inner and outer work for the actor. I set high goals and encourage students/actors gently to move toward those goals. I work intensly but also in a fun way. I generally work only with groups. Individual coaching only for advanced actors. I do not have a studio. I am still in touch with many many of my past students, I think that says something. My complete C.V. can be found at http://www.halryder.com. I also have profiles on Facebook, Linked In and other social websites.
I enjoy seeing students and actors grasp new concepts and applying them and both of us discovering new things.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We meet and set the actors goals and expectations prior to any work. We plan a schedule and work out space and fees. After those practicalities are done, I would like to hear either a memorized speech or have someone read a speech from dramatic literature. We might read scene together. I would hope most lessons would be more than one person unless we are dealing with a)theory b)history. My modality of teaching is learning by doing. Getting actors on their feet and have learning experiences is the goal to start with. I also teach theater history and literature.
