About

I am an actor and director from the Seattle area with almost thirty years performing experience. I hold a BA from the University Of Washington, an A.A. from The American Academy Of Dramatic Arts (L.A.), and an M.F.A. from The California Institute Of The Arts.

Since 2006, I have taught and directed in the Theatre department of the number one high school for the arts in the U.S.

My years of experience on the stage, in the studio, and in the classroom have given me a deep understanding of the craft, and a keen awareness of how to help students grow in their art. I am attuned to each student's individual goals and can easily identify their gifts as well as their areas for improvement. Having taught thousands of students from around the world in every stage of artistic growth, I have developed a vast repetoire of exercises and techniques which bring out the talent that lives within each of them.

Beginning my online presence with Lessons.com is a very exciting next step in my career. I can't wait to meet you and help you grow in your craft and achieve your dreams!

I am never happier or more inspired than when I am helping actors discover and develop their acting skills. For the past fifteen years I have dedicated myself to this beautiful and fulfilling profession. During my journey, I have coached and directed countless actors, and my greatest joy is found in their personal and professional success.

I can say with certainty, that Rendon was one of the most impactful teachers I have studied under to date. I have studied both classical theatre and screen acting with him and learned an incredible amount. His care for his students becomes apparent in his attention to detail and ability to select materials that will benefit that student most. I recall my first breakthrough I had with a character. Thanks to his teachings in character analysis, I was able to discover more and think deeper about character than I was previously capable of. I was all the more surprised with myself since it was a classical piece and my previous experience was limited. Not only did I grow artistically, but I became much more disciplined in my craft. His care for his students manifests in expectations that assignments will be completed thoroughly and to the best of ones abilities. I remember the day I arrived in class without my scene memorized... I did not leave that class with the grade I had hoped for. Although I was disappointed in the moment, Im incredibly grateful for that experience since my career goals would have later suffered had he not held me to such a high standard. By the end of our time together, I had grown immensely as an artist and I am confident he will continue to do the same for all his future students.

Studying under Rendon was such a fulfilling, inspiring, and motivating experience. He makes every single class an extensive and rich learning opportunity for growth. One of the important things I love about coaching with him, is how he held himself and his expectations for the classroom; Setting a precedent of excellence, diligence, and focus from start to finish. I admired his dedication and commitment to every individual student, believing in their abilities, and pushing them beyond what they thought capable. I valued his approach to teaching stage and screen acting, crafting various and effective exercises to challenge students, dissecting and analyzing scripts and screenplays, and encouraging students to explore and “play” as they work.
