About this pro

We can come to you or you can come to us. Making it flexible for the busy bees out there, EAsT customizes a list of entrees, appetizers, desserts and even drinks according to the style or country that each client desires to learn. Clients then grab some friends for a fun night of cooking and laughter while we make a clean exit as though we were never there. Food should be fun and enjoyable, that's why we love what we do.

We are foodies. We love to create our own fusions and explore the unending flavors that each country encompasses. Food tells a story that goes beyond words. Let us share with you passed down secrets of each culture. Cooking fears? We're doing this together. Food is definitely a love language- let's dive in together.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Every student is coming from different culinary experiences: from none at all to professionally, there is always something new to learn. We talk over the phone or by email but no matter the level of experience, each dish is possible to make with zero to little skill. We are there with you through the entire process

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I Grew up in the kitchen & bakery since I could walk. My mother and her family were one of the first egg roll/summer roll stands in Paris, France. My father and his family had multiple stands and restaurants throughout Cambodia: phnom penh noodle soup, chicken and rice, snack shops, desserts, etc. My childhood consisted of food and we said I love by asking, "Have you eaten yet?" My passion is food and sharing this love I have with others.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Typical group workshop sessions are for two students. This class is entirely hands on from chopping ingredients to using the stove, each partner works together to create their masterpieces. Our instructor takes a group of students through local asian grocery stores to go over ingredients and purchase items. Afterwards, everyone heads to the kitchen where we teach 4 entrees, a side and an appetizer. Depending on the season, we also do desserts and popular drinks. The price of this class is $150.

Demonstration classes are not entirely hands on, however there are many opportunities for participation. Our appetizers are always hands on and throughout the class students can partake in each step as they desire. Demonstration classes are perfect for the type of student who does not want to do any of the cooking themselves or a student who is interested but more so there for the food then logistics.

How did you get started teaching?

I began teaching friends and family how to make an assortment of dishes that others would teach me or I would pick up. I became the go to feeder for my friends and the main cook in the family. From large group functions and wedding catering, my passion and desire is for anyone to be able to make delicious food at home.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with students with no experience (some children) to American restaurant chefs. We have had students from all over so far and each have been a lot of fun to get to know.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Our monthly cooking lessons are always a blast. With all sorts of personalities and skills, food really does bring everyone together. If we all enjoy good food, coming to a class or having a private group session is never a worry because we will definitely have good company!

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Have a conversation. We're ordinary people that enjoy doing what we do. Someone who is passionate is going to care a lot more about your experience than your skill It's about having fun but being able to take away what's important to you.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

Please let us know if you are allergic to anything or have any food restrictions. There are many options to customize food and you shouldn't have to miss out on a food because of a food restriction. Ingredients can definitely be opted out or added to. This will test the creativity of your teacher as well!
