What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Determine what the students goals are and formulating a plan to reach this goal. This can be applied in everything from basic cooking skills, cuisine specific cooking, and learning how to produce healthy quick food.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a professional kitchen worker in some sort of capacity since I was 15. I have done everything from run a summer camp as the head chef, to working a sushi bar, and even backstage event catering for stadium concerts.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Everybody can cook. Find someone willing to describe how to work with a variety of ingredients, explore cuisine specific flavors, and most importantly technique should be explained and not merely regurgitated.
