My son started with Esteban at 10 years old. He incorporates the fundamentals while also working on songs/drum fills right away so you can see the potential right away. It makes the lesson fun and keeps you engaged and motivated to practice. I highly recommend.

Esteban has been teaching our kid since before the pandemic and he has done an amazing job despite all the difficulty. He is very understanding, accommodating, and individualizes his lessons to make them fun. Our kid says he is really kind and is great at explaining things even over virtual lessons.

Esteban has a knack for teaching and goes the extra mile to make sure that learning to play the drums is a great experience. He is a great resource for learning about drumming and is always happy to help answer any questions. He really cares about the success of his students and it shows. At the Drum Lab, I feel like Im consistently improving while being challenged and inspired to work harder. I wish I found out about this place sooner!

    Frequently asked questions

I trained with Dan Bukvich at the Lionel Hampton School of Music. After a rigorous 12-year professional performance schedule, I travel less and teach more, combining my passions for music and teaching. My communications degree and work as a special needs therapist have informed my teaching style, customized learning for each student.

I’ve travelled around the Northwest performing classic rock, top 40’s, 80’s glam rock, pop, country, big band, and combo jazz. I’ve enjoyed playing casinos, fairs, fundraisers, wineries, weddings, corporate gigs, community events, and quirky bars like Greenlake’s Little Red Hen. I also collaborate on original fusion compositions.

I teach adults, children and teens. My youngest student is currently five and my oldest are in their mid-sixties, but it's never too late to take up a fulfilling hobby. One of my high-school-age students recently got accepted into an advanced jazz ensemble for the coming year, though of course, I'm not sure what the district will end up doing this fall.
