I focus on the needs of the student not just what I want to teach them. There is no one size fits all in my approach to teaching. I want to focus on what the student's goals are, and then help them to meet those goals as soon as possible.

I was six years old when I had my first piano lesson. In fifth grade, I started learning the clarinet, so that I could be in the school band. I liked band so much that I wanted to be in the orchestra and the jazz band too. That's when I started playing the bass. I played upright bass in the orchestra, and I played bass guitar in the jazz band. Around this time, I took up the guitar. When I got to college, I chose string bass as my primary instrument, but I also took violin and viola lessons.
My favorite instrument is still bass, but some of the other instruments I teach are piano, guitar, cello, and violin.
