Our service has access to several sites. Altamont School, Mt Brook Hunior High an Vestavia Hills High School courts. My partner and I have over 75 years experience coaching, training and teaching the sport of tennis. You will be in good hands!
Watching people get excited about learning how to learn to play tennis. It's not easy but if taught correctly you will be able to enjoy it for a lifetime.
Coaching and teaching people the game of tennis has be a passion that I've totally enjoyed during the last 40 years.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Depending on the level but introducing the proper grips, technique to hitting the bsll. Go over ultimate fundamentals which include early preparation, footwork, recovery.
Tennis is movement with the ball. Learning to move snd get the bsll in the correct contact come is very important. We work volleys snd overheads snd serve. If they are advanced enough we have a strategic way in which person plays the game with different concepts on how to play.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a USPTA professional for 40 years. I worked with USTA schools programs . Served as state coach for players that qualify for Sectionsl and National Tournsment
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes- lessons are 75/hr for individual. We do group lesson which vary depending on the number of students participating. We offer after school programs for juniors as well as weekend camps.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching after college where I played at Samford University
What types of students have you worked with?
Every level of student I have taught or coached. From beginners, my younger gear was my grandsons who were not quite 3 and by 5 could rally the bsll. I introduced short court tennis to the south in1986. I've coached numerous juniors who went to college on tennis scholarships. I've coached and traveled with professional players. Coached adults and had adult development programs. Women's and men's USTA teams.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It is important that you learn the correct way to hit the ball. Find a person who is knowledgeable and has a passion for what they are doing. It may cost you more but it's worth it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be honest about where you are in this tennis journey. Ask your instructor about what you should do when your not hitting with instructor. How much time should you allocate to your tennis.
