I currently teach a wide variety of ages and levels of players. I have some students as young as eight years old and others into their 70s. Some of the players I coach were Division I athletes in other sports but decided to take up tennis... And other players I coach have never played any sports at all before taking up tennis. It has been my privilege to coach all different kinds of players – that's a part of what keeps it interesting for me.
Personally, I took up tennis when I was 14 and have continued to play throughout the years. I coached high school tennis in the Huntsville area for 10 years. When I moved to Birmingham a couple of years ago, I started Baseline Birmingham and have been teaching private lessons as well as starting a tennis program locally at Restoration Academy. Having a blast.
Tennis is a great sport to get involved in whether it is for exercise, social connection, or for competition. At Baseline Birmingham, we are committed to helping new players get started and helping those who are already playing to move forward. - Steve
