Bill Watkins Presents The Art Of Playing Golf
About
I have over 30 years of experience in the this deceptively simple, yet incredibly complicated game. My main focus is to make you a better player while not confusing you with unendingly complicated thoughts. The goal is to make you appreciate this game of Queens and Kings, love it for what it is, and what it will always be. There is no better feeling in sports than striking a golf ball in the center of the club face, and it brings me great joy to have my students experience it on a much more consistent basis.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I talk to my students and get to know what their goals are at the beginning of the lesson. We then talk about what the students strengths and weaknesses are so that we are both on the same page with what we need to accomplish. Next I watch the students swing and check for proper fundamentals. Then we talk about why the ball is behaving in the manner in which it is, and why, and we discuss what drills will be helpful in getting the student to strike the ball more effectively.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 30 years experience related to the game of golf, and am certified by the Golf Academy of America in both teaching and club fitting. I have had consistent success in teaching players on a professionally competitive level, as well as beginners, and every level in between.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Teaching the game of golf is not about methodology. It's about taking the ability that you have to play the game, and making the most out of it.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Be honest with yourself, and set reasonable short term goals that are achievable. This game has nothing to do with quick fixes, it's all about building a more consistent game through proper practice, and correct fundamentals.
