About

We offer the original self-defense Gracie Jiu-Jitsu as taught by Grandmaster Helio Gracie as well as a form of modern Ninjutsu called To-Shin Do as founded by Black Belt Hall of Fame Member, Stephen K. Hayes.

Every class is geared towards practical techniques that will work for you on the first night. We also do not focus on competition like many Jiu-Jitsu schools and therefore are not constrained by artificial rules and environments.

Finally our program has a full life skill development component designed to challenge you mentally in the same way the other parts of the programs challeng eyou physically. We dig deep and figure out how to get more out of our lives!

Helping my students learn how to have a happier, more successful and more meaningful life. Accomplishing success in the martial arts gives one confidence to face ALL of lifes other challenges.

Frequently asked questions

We will generally sit down with the student and do either a 10 minute introduction in our Jiu-Jitsu program, or a school walk through and discussion in our Ninjutsu program.

During the students first class we ensure that we pair them up with a more experienced student to ensure they have a great class and are not left feeling lost.

Instructors also generally jump in and work with every student during the course of each class.

I have been training in the martial arts since 1993. During that time I have traveled to train with many experts around the world on self defense concepts, training topics and other related issues.

I have achieved a 4th degree black belt in To-Shin Do under Stephen K. Hayes, a purple belt in Braziilan Jiu-jitsu under Gary Matsch (black belt student of Gustavo Dantes), and am a Blue belt and Gracie Certified Instructor under Ryron and Rener Gracie.

I have also studied success and leadership extensively under such notable individuals as Tony Robbins and other modern day thought leaders.

Our pricing and program structure is relatively simple. We charge 129 per month for unlimited attendance to either program. If you wish to do both programs it is 149 per month.

We do have familiy discounts available as well.

I was actually jumped by 3 guys in my youth. I had no idea how to deal with it and determined after the fact to never be in that situation again.

A short time after I started training, my instructor started a leadership program for those that were interested in learning more about teaching and running a school (among other things). I joined and have never looked back!

I have worked with students of all ages, sizes and genders. We have had student with disabilities, missing limbs, bad backs...you name it! My goal is to help you find a way to better yourselff and improve your odds in a dangerous sitution no matter what challenges you may have.

I recently left my high paying job to follow my passion of teaching the martial arts. Although my job paid well it took too much time away from my ability to be a good instructor and student. This is what I was put on this earth to do.

Do NOT get taken in by slick sales tactics and pressure. Try out at least 2-3 programs before making a decision. No school is perfect, but some schools will make more sense for your particular personality, goals and desires than others.

I know that what I do is NOT for everyone. I checked out at least a dozen schools when I first began my quest in the 90s before finding a home.

Also do not let money be your determining factor. If you find a school that is a good fit figure out how you can make it work if it is as at all in your reach.

Figure out why you really want to train. There are many reasons. Do you want self-defense? Better fitness? Increased focus and discipline? Are you looking to compete?

How physical do you want your training? There full contact programs and NO contact programs.

If you are looking for self defense does the school understand legal ramifications, physiological effects and the psychogical impact of real world violence?

Don't be too impressed by military backgrounds, medals, etc. See how you feel about the instructor. Some that can do, CANNOT teach well.

Does the school use contracts? If so is there a buy out clause if something happens in your life or will they sick a collection agency on you if you lose your job and quit.

There is nothing wrong with contacts, just make sure they have clauses for dealing with things like that.
