About

I started teaching 17 years ago. What started as a part time job grew into a full time career of teaching and playing. At that time I wrote my own drum lesson book which was distributed all over Florida. As of now I only teach part time and only take on a few students at a time. Some of my old students are now performers and teachers in their own right.

I do get lots of joy watching my students perform live.

    Frequently asked questions

There are multiple ways of teaching the same thing. My job as a teacher is to tailor lessons to each student so they progress at a steady pace.

I was classically taught drumming from my old jazz teacher, and later honed my playing and teaching skills through constant practice and performance.

My lessons are not timed. some lessons last a half hour and some last an hour. It all depends on what is needed for that week.

A long time ago another drummer wanted me to show him some things that I did on the drum set, and it just snowballed from there.
I've worked with true beginners who didn't even know how to hold sticks all the way to professionals that wanted to fine tune their playing.
