After taking a series of six introductory group golf lessons, I was disappointed and frustrated with my game. While I enjoyed meeting some other newbie golfers, I felt the instructor of the group lessons didn't provide any individual/personal instruction, modifications, or encouragement. So, even though discouraged, I decided to try three lessons with Gil via Groupon... and I'm so glad I did!! Gil was able to schedule me quickly and during my first lesson he addressed a number of swing mechanic issues that I had been struggling with! It was AWESOME! Months of frustration literally disappeared after my first lesson with Gil. He made suggestions for the type of driver and clubs that would work well with my swing, and provided instruction in a manner that I understood. He explains things well, and provides tips and tricks that are easy to remember and produce immediate results! I have completed 2 of my 3 lessons and my confidence and interest in the game has skyrocketed! Not to mention my game. I only wish I had found Gil sooner! I'm officially hooked, having found my new hobby. Thank you, Gil!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I believe a repeatable 10-20 second pre-shot routine is the foundation for successful golf. Many swing errors are the direct result of improper or lack of a pre-shot routine if you have no plan for a shot it will not go well...With proper fundamentals (grip, posture, ball position, aim, positive attitude ) you will have more consistent results. I have no single method of teaching the golf swing. Each student is an individual, and has differing abilities to learn and improve. I will teach you to be a great ball striker...
I will establish a simple 3 part set up 1-pre shot 60% 2-the shot 20% 3-post shot 20% and then work with you to create the ideal swing for your body type...
My instruction is based on your commitment to practice, I will show you how to practice the right way. PRACTICE WITH A PURPOSE... My opinion is this is where I will separate you from others - if you know how to practice you will get better...

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

How did you get started teaching?

The answer is simple. No one else teaches like me. Time and again I hear “I don’t know what I am doing wrong”. Well, this is not another 7-iron exercise where you hit ball after ball on the range. I will take you on the course and on the range. By observing you and through the use of cutting edge technology, I will hone in on the cause of your difficulties. I am going to give you the tools to fix your problem and improve your game. My lessons are two hours in length, minimum, part of which is spent in the practice areas to learn technique and part of which is on the course for practical application. I teach the eight areas of the game including six technical areas, course management, and the mental aspects of the game. Applying theories that I've developed during years of teaching, competition, and studying professionals like Bob Rotella, Michael Bender, Deepak Chopra, Michael T. Lardon, Hank Haney, Joseph Parent, Daniel Coyle and others, I will help you understand the mental game of golf to help you develop a positive mind set for better golf and increase your enjoyment.
