About this pro

Hitting a golf ball is EASY! Hitting a golf ball well, consistantly, to the desired  distance and direction is quite another thing. Most good golfers have 3 things in common. Good grip, good posture and finish. Obviously, filling in the blanks between start and finish is what separates the "haves" from the "have nots". Let me help you get started and/or, fill in those blanks.

Thanks, M.L.

Being relatively new to golf, it was fun and easy to follow Mel's instruction. I felt like he was speaking to me and not at me. My swing is much improved and I'm having a lot more fun on the course. I highly recommend Mel!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Depending on the student, I look at grip and set up initially. Then I have to evaluate the movement patterns as a relates to the golf swing, i.e. take away, return, finish. As a golf Fitness professional I can provide a prescription for any Mobility or stability issues and as a teaching professional fill in the blanks for better and more consistent contact on the golf ball

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I've been a teaching professional for 25 years. I've been a fitness professional for almost 30. Ace certified personal trainer. Titleist performance Institute golf Fitness professional. K- vest 3D swing motion analyst. Ping custom Club fitter.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Standard half hour golf lesson is $40. A series of four lessons is $120. Lessons can be all golf swing, all golf Fitness, or a combination.

How did you get started teaching?

In golf, I cut my teeth as a custom Club fitter. I honed my teaching skills by giving a free golf lesson  with every set of custom clubs I sold. In short order, my listen book was full and 99% of my lessons were repeat or referral customers. Having recently moved to Tucson, I hope to have the same success.

What types of students have you worked with?

The meat and potatoes of golf instruction is growing the game. So juniors and beginning golfers of all ages are very important to me. I have worked with tour Pros and Elite amateurs. I have worked with 5 year olds, 95 year olds, World class athletes and physically challenged athlete. Golf has no prejudice. Anyone can learn and enjoy this game
