Frequently asked questions

I first need to find out their skill level and interest level. I like to find out their musical tastes and goals. For a beginner we will work on strumming patterns and freeing up the strumming hand; he/she will learn 4 basic chord shapes that utilize a pivot point for ease of fingering positions.

I’ve been playing guitar for 32 years and have been a full time touring guitarist for the last 16 years. I grew up in a household with both parents who were master degree in classical piano and a doctorate in music theory. Every day was a music lesson. I have a working understanding of music theory and technique. I have a lifetime of experience “chasing tone” and choosing the right gear. 25.00 for a 1 hr lesson.

I taught the classes for 2 semesters. This helped me identify personalized modes of learning for each student. It was quite the chore to get 18 kids to stay interested in the class, especially when they were all at different levels of skill.

4th graders, high schoolers, a few autistic children, and adults of all skill levels.

I opened up for The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and they asked my band if we would come up and join them onstage for their encore medley.
